Expatriate Cross-Cultural Orientation Programs

CultureSense International, Inc. expatriate cross-cultural orientation programs enable the expatriate employees and their families to successfully transition from one culture to another by enabling them to understand the concept of culture; analyze and identify the key characteristics of their own national culture; recognize cultural differences as they affect life issues; understand the dimensions of national differences; understand differences in organizational cultures; recognize the motivation and qualities that make for a successful expatriate experience; understand and be able to respond to culture shock; develop strategies for successful intercultural communication; understand and be able to respond to reentry shock; and acquire country-specific knowledge.

Expatriate cross-cultural orientation programs are conducted in one and two-day sessions, or can be custom-designed based on the needs of our clients. A needs assessment is conducted over the telephone with the international human resources consultant requesting the training, as well as with the participants. This enables us to address all the needs of the clients during the training session, as well as allowing us to customize the program.

Customizing can be addressed in many different ways, for example we can include a special childrens program, additional emphasis on cross-cultural management, or specific spousal/family concerns.

Our professionals will travel anywhere in the United States or worldwide to conduct the training on site. Often, we will spend one to two days with a family, in their homes, prior to their departure. The training can also be conducted in groups with multiple employees or multiple families who will be expatriating to the same location.

The training can be conducted in English, and Spanish. Other languages can be accommodated with the use of interpreters.
